NRA PISTOL SAFETY COURSE - $175

Pistol Safety Course  - Hawaii law requires a 4-hour classroom instruction plus 2 hours of range time. 

Conducted at the shooting range under the guidance and supervision of NRA Certified Instructors. This course is intended for all adults and mature children regardless of previous shooting experience.

The classroom portion will review the Maui County firearms rules and regulations, gun safety rules, range safety rules,  proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, selecting and storing a pistol, the fundamentals of shooting, pistol inspection and maintenance,  hands on training for learning how to load, fire and unload both Revolver and Semi Auto pistol. The Second portion consist of  live fire qualifications, shooting at least a .22lr revolver and a semi auto pistol.  Upon course completion, you will receive a certificate of completion and Affidavit. 

Once you have your affidavit you may apply for a permit to Acquire a Handgun with the Maui County Police Department Records Department.  See Permit to Acquire - Click here

After Registration Please pick up your study book at Handley's Gun Supply 808-874-9457

Class starts at 9:00am in the Ukumehame Range Classroom, located right next to the range. Please be on time. Recommended: Closed toe shoes and no low-cut tops.
